The Sword

Swords were the most common weapon of the renaissance and there were many varieties.  One of them was the longsword.  The longsword is a double edged sword wielded with two hands because of its weight and size.  Used in a striking, cutting, and thrusting motion, they caused great damage on the field of battle.  Other swords were much shorter and although they were faster than the longsword, they did not cause quite as much damage.
